Since its establishment in downtown Hartford, Daswani Clothiers has been the gold standard for men's clothing. Our expertise fuses the finest hand-tailored workmanship, premiere one-on-one stylized consultations, and exceptional customer service that has paved the way for our better days yet to come.

Collectively, we have over one hundred years of industry experience. From pairing socks with pants to making suit jacket buttonholes by hand, this old-world service is state-of-the-art for our elite customers, some of the most distinguished gentlemen in Connecticut and throughout North America.

OUR HISTORY

Daswani Clothiers history 1970s

1970's

Jack Daswani develops his craft for fine tailoring and custom made clothing. Leaves Hong Kong to expand business into the US. We pioneer the direct selling business way before the bigger custom houses existed.

1975

Daswani regularly made frequent visits throughout major cities in the Northeast, Mid Atlantic and some parts of the mid west. During one of his road trips between Manhattan and Boston he landed in Hartford, which became the future home of Daswani Clothiers.

Daswani Custom Clothiers showroom became established in the then Hartford Hilton Hotel on Asylum Avenue.

Jack and his wife Deepa opened their 5,000 sq ft. dream store in West Hartford on South Main St. The business expanded into mens ready-to-wear, womenswear, childrenswear, tailoring, embroidery, reweaving and uniforms.

Building on its custom tailoring roots, Daswani continued growing its ready-to-wear collections while preserving the personal service and craftsmanship that defined the family business.
